Accreditations and
Professional Associations

Washington Episcopal School is accredited by:

Association of Independent Maryland Schools
Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools

What does it mean to be accredited? It signifies that the school lives up to widely accepted professional standards and makes a sincere effort to "live its mission," to follow in practice what is stated in the school philosophy. In order to achieve and maintain accreditation, schools must undergo a rigorous two-year self-examination and evaluation by outside educators.  WES recently completed this arduous process and received a full ten-year accreditation from both Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools and the Association of Independent Maryland Schools.
