Washington Episcopal School is a diverse community. We welcome families from all over the world, and our student body represents dozens of nationalities. Many came to DC through postings at international financial institutions, embassies, and the military. Over 10% of our students hold foreign citizenship.
The WES curriculum encourages students to celebrate international backgrounds and study countries around the world. We offer French and Spanish language classes, as well as Mandarin and Arabic in our after school program. The highlight of our international focus is in Grades 7 and 8, when students travel to Italy, France, and Spain.
The Office of Admission is happy to work with families applying from overseas. We can work with you to set up testing, conduct interviews over phone or video conference, and be flexible in scheduling classroom visits. Please see How to Apply for more information about the admissions process. Occasionally, families know they will only be living in DC area for a few years before moving abroad again. We work with those families to ensure students transfer smoothly to overseas schools.
