What is the procedure for applying to WES?
Parents are invited to attend an open house. Applications are available at the Admissions Open Houses, online, or from the school office. Just call, and we will mail one to you. Once the application is received, the student will be invited to visit the school.

When should I apply?
The application deadline is February 1. Families are encouraged to apply in the fall of the year preceeding the year they would like to enter the school.

What testing is required?
No formal testing is required for applicants to Nursery or Transition (pre-K). The WPPSI-III is required for applicants to Kindergarten and Grade 1, the WISC-IV is required for entry to Grades 2 through 6, and the SSAT or ISEE for Grades 7 and 8. We also accept an SSAT or ISEE for a Grade 6 application.

How will I know when the application is complete?
You should call the Office of Admission in early February to confirm that your file is complete.

Do you offer financial aid?
Yes. Parents must file aParents' Financial Statement (PFS) with School and Student Services by NAIS (SSS). Parents can apply online at http://sss.nais.org or request a hard copy application from the Office of Admission. Note: Online applications are processed much faster.

What is the class size?
Average class size is 14 for Nursery and Transition, and 16 for Kindergarten through Grade 8.

What foreign languages do you offer?
Students in Transition through Grade 8 have a choice of Spanish or French. Latin is required in Grades 6 through 8.

What are the school hours?

Nursery students have the option to stay

Do you have a uniform or dress code?
There is no uniform for children in Nursery, Transition or Kindergarten. Students in Grades 1-8 do wear a school uniform. There is also a required uniform for PE for Grades 1-8.

Do you have before or after care?
Students may arrive at school as early as 7:45 a.m. and attend the extended day program as late at 6:00 p.m. Nursery and Transition students may arrive at 8:10 a.m. if riding with older siblings or a carpool mate. There is a fee for after care.

Do you have transportation?
Our school buses are used to transport our students to sports events and some field trips. We encourage families to carpool as we do not offer transportation to and from school.

We have approximately 310 students from our three year olds in Nursery through Grade 8.
