Physical Education (PE)
At Washington Episcopal School, Physical Education is more than just movement. It’s a cornerstone of our mission to foster healthy, confident, and capable students. Our Physical Education Program builds foundational skills and values that students carry with them for life.

What Makes PE at WES Unique?
- Inclusive & Student-Centered: Our program is designed to meet every student where they are. Whether just beginning or already thriving in athletics, there's a place for everyone to engage, grow, and feel successful.
- Sequential Curriculum: PE at WES is intentionally structured to build year-by- year—developing coordination, movement fluency, and sports-specific skills from Early Childhood through Grade 8.
- Fitness for Life: Emphasis is placed on personal growth, fitness awareness, and building habits that last. Students learn to take responsibility for their own health and fitness journey.
- Values in Action: Through teamwork, game play, and shared goals, students practice sportsmanship, respect, leadership, and emotional regulation every day.
- A Broad Range of Experiences: Our curriculum blends traditional sports like soccer, basketball, and volleyball with engaging non-traditional options like dance, climbing, pickleball, cooperative games, fitness challenges, and team-building adventures—ensuring all learners find something they love.
