Brittany Sullivan

Grade 4 Teacher

At WES Since: 2022

Why did you become a teacher?
I became a teacher to be able to work with children and help them grow their love for learning, especially the excitement of seeing them do new things!

What is the best piece of advice you have ever received?
My dad always said “if you find a job you like, you never have to work a day in your life.” I am very passionate about teaching, so much that I don’t feel like I’m working.

Bio:
I began college as a biology major. However, after working at a summer camp in Pennsylvania, I realized that I enjoyed working with children. So, I switched my major from biology to education.

I graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education and a master’s degree in the same field a few years later. I started my profession as a teacher by working in Pennsylvania at Simmons Elementary School, where I worked as a special education assistant and then as a reading specialist for Kindergarteners. I moved on to teaching children in Montgomery County Public Schools as a Fourth Grade teacher at Wyngate Elementary School for the past 8 years!

In my own time, I work as a soccer coach and love doing yoga. I enjoy spending time with my husband and our 1-year old puppy named Moose. I also like to go on runs, if not traveling abroad to London where my sister lives—we love traveling during the summers to explore the rest of Europe!
