Digital Discernment: Helping Our Kids to Make the Right Choices Online - Wednesday, May 24th, 6:30-8:30 p.m.
Join us Wednesday, May 24th, 6:30-8:30 p.m., in The Stuart Work Library for this event. Hear from child psychologist, Dr. Adam Pletter, and WES faculty, Allison Klothe, Meredith Rice, and Tina Melendez to learn about effective communication strategies to navigate the digital world with your child. A continuation of the discussion surrounding Screenagers and the WES Digital Awareness Project, this Parent Education session will provide parents with a deeper understanding of the necessity of positive, open communication and explicit guidance in order to help their pre-teens and teenagers engage with technology and social media in a positive and healthy way.
Dr. Pletter will discuss the challenges of Digital Parenting and show parents how to use the built-in controls of Apple devices paired with developmentally appropriate Digital Access Boxes™ so parents are better equipped to teach their children while they safely expand their access as they grow and demonstrate good digital citizenship.
