Students studying French will be celebrating "La semaine du français," the National French Week, Nov. 1-8. Students will kick off the week by singing the French national anthem "La Marseillaise" over the public address system. Grades 2-8 will have presentations en français by natives of Lebanon, Cameroon, and Morocco! The celebration will include educational activities such as studies of monuments of Paris in Grade 4, Francophone countries in Grade 7, and famous French people in Grade 8. Additional events will be a waiters' race in Kindergarten, a pétanque game in Middle School, dances, movies, and food dégustations. The Transition students are in for a treat with their participation in the traditional Tour de France!
Congratulations! WES French teacher Jacqueline Hassanzadeh has once again been awarded a grant from the American Association of Teachers of French to underwrite expenses for National French Week.
