Parent Presentation—Beyond Covington: How to Help our Children Become Upstanders and not Bystanders
Join us on Friday, Feb. 15, 8:00-9:00 a.m., in The Stuart Work Library for this special presentation with Dr. Omékongo Dibinga. Parents will learn the skills to engage in courageous conversations with their children about the challenges we face today. Dr. Dibinga is a motivational speaker, trilingual poet, TV talk show host, rapper, and professor of cross-cultural communication at American University. Dr. Dibinga's writings and performances have appeared in O Magazine, as well as on TV and radio from CNN, BET, and the BBC to NPR, Music Choice, and Voice of America. He was one of five international recipients out of 750,000 to win the first ever "CNN iReport Spirit Award."
