Unlock the power of the media and become a storyteller in the dynamic world of broadcast journalism! In our broadcast journalism class, students will embark on an exciting journey into the heart of news reporting, storytelling, and multimedia communication. Whether you dream of being in front of the camera or behind the scenes, this course will equip you with the essential skills to thrive in the fast-paced world of broadcasting. From researching and writing compelling news scripts to honing their on-camera presence, students will engage in and present their stories.

Rising Grades 3-5

Have you ever wanted to make your own websites and apps? In this hands-on coding and tech club, you’ll learn the skills of a coder and the mindset of an entrepreneur through building apps - your own app and also an app for local nonprofits. You’ll build apps and games weekly in the course and work on real web apps. Previous students have been covered in multiple local news outlets for apps they've built for homeless shelters, veterinarians, and local climate nonprofits!

Rising Grades 3-5

Have you ever wanted to play the nationally-known game Dungeons and Dragons? Stretch your imagination telling stories with your friends, and build useful creative skills? What about play the game they do in Stranger Things? Well this is your chance! In this class, we'll be exploring collaborative storytelling through Dungeons and Dragons. Along the way, we'll develop social and emotional skills that will serve us well outside of the RPG.

Rising Grades 6-8

Have you ever wanted to be a Photographer? Well, this is your chance! In this afterschool class, we’ll learn the basics of photography in all of its forms. We’ll learn about Composition, Lighting and other core strategies that allow professionals to take incredible photos. We’ll also get to take pictures of campus, go on nature tours, and even create beautiful creations for local businesses!

Rising Grades 6-8

Have you ever wanted to start your own business or website? In this class for budding entrepreneurs, that’s exactly what you’ll do! You’ll work with a classmate to come up with a simple company idea, taking it as far as it will go before the class ends. You’ll create a business plan, enlist friends and family, and set up everything you need to be a junior entrepreneur: a first email address, a basic app or website, and a presentation. Ultimately, you’ll share your idea with friends and family, work hard to get a first customer, and present all your progress to the whole class. You’ll have a ton of fun and accomplish more than you ever have before!

Rising Grades 4-9

Get ready to roll, mix, and bake your way through a delicious week of camp fun. Campers will explore the sweet world of baking as they create cookies, cupcakes, breads, and more. They will learn basic kitchen safety, measuring techniques, and how to follow a recipe while having a blast in a hands-on environment. From decorating treats to trying new ingredients, this camp is perfect for young bakers who love to get creative in the kitchen. All experience levels are welcome.
