Kind. Confident. Prepared.
Washington Episcopal School (WES) is a co-educational, independent school in Bethesda, Maryland that challenges Nursery through Grade 8 students to embrace academic rigor in an appropriately balanced and supportive environment. We are a diverse, inclusive community that respects individual differences, develops every child’s unique talents, and fosters learning inside and outside the classroom. Here, children stand out without burning out.
WES Students Recognized at the MAESA Scholars' Fair
The Mid-Atlantic Episcopal Schools Association Scholars’ Fair provides an opportunity for students who have excelled in science, geography, spelling, art, or multimedia to learn from their peers at other schools. WES students were recognized in several categories this year, including a clean sweep of the Grades 4-6 Science Fair!
Honoring Service and Dedication
The St. George’s Society recognizes faculty and staff who have served our community for 15 years or more. We were pleased to induct two new members into this special society this year, Assistant Director of Development Ali Bratun and Kindergarten Teacher Joyce O’Donnell.
WES Takes Home Top Honors in 'Best of Bethesda'
Bethesda Magazine‘s annual Readers’ Poll honors the organizations that have served our community well. We are humbled to have earned recognition in four categories, and to have taken home top honors in two categories.
Play It Forward
WES’s coaches know that playing sports confers benefits well beyond those of fitness and competitiveness. With a wide range of personal athletic experiences, from childhood to college to the professional level, they tell us about the lessons they learned along the way.
