Lenten Book Camp

Have you found that “just right” Lenten practice which will feed and challenge you this Lent?

WES parents are invited to participate in a Lenten Book Group in the WES Religion Room on five Thursday evenings during Lent in cooperation with St. Columba’s Episcopal Church in Tenleytown. Come once or up to all five times! We will be discussing the book Sabbath as Resistance: Saying NO to the CULTURE OF NOW, by Old Testament scholar Walter Brueggemann. If you order this book, please be sure to get the NEW VERSION with STUDY GUIDE. You can order a copy from Amazon.com at this LINK. The chapters are short and sweet to read, and they provide many questions to ponder with a thoughtful group. The book is a pretty profound theological exploration of why Sabbath is as relevant today as it ever was.

We will meet on the following five dates and times in the Religion Room:
• Thursday, March 14, at 6 p.m.
• Thursday, March 21, at 6 p.m.
• Thursday, March 28, at 6 p.m. (WES Spring Break)
• Thursday, April 4, at 6 p.m.
• Thursday, April 11, at 6 p.m.

If you have any questions, please contact Chaplain Tim at tkennedy@w-e-s.org.
