Study Hall
Supervised study hall is available in Grades 6 – 8 from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday. There is no fee for study hall and no sign-up is required. Many students find this extra hour at school a great way to get homework done in a quiet, familiar space with valuable resources at hand.
After-School Enrichment
Students in Grades 6 – 8 can choose from a range of programs that provide socialization across grade levels, as well as enrichment and skill development. Enrichment programs are held once a week after school. Most are free but a few require a fee. The offerings vary for each session.
Extended Day
An Extended Day program is offered daily (exceptions being the day before Christmas break, Graduation Day and the last day of school) for an additional fee. It begins at 4:30 p.m. for Grades 6 – 8 and runs until 6 p.m. Students may work on their homework or participate in supervised free play. The Extended Day Room, Computer Lab, Gym, and playground are all available for use. Drop-ins are also welcome.
Band
Instrumental music participation (band) is mandatory for all students in Grades 4, 5, and 6. Grades 7 and 8 students choose band or chorus. In order to supplement the two full rehearsals during the school day, each grade also meets in smaller instrument sectionals after school once per week rotating through the various band instruments. Currently, Grades 5 and 6 meet on Wednesday with each student having a sectional about once per month. The Middle School ensemble is a group known as the Band Ambassadors who rehearse weekly every Tuesday.
Team Sports
Beginning in Grade 5, students have an opportunity to participate in intermural sports with area schools. Boys teams and girls team include soccer and cross country in the fall, basketball in the winter, and lacrosse and track in the spring. These teams focus on building foundational skills and learning the benefits of teamwork. Every student who wishes to play on a team is encouraged to play to his or her fullest ability.

Students may choose the physical education alternative to team sports, WESQwest. This program is intended to engage and motivate students in Grades 5 – 8 to become and remain physically active through a varied program of modern lifestyle fitness and sport activities.
