What is your philosophy on teaching?
The best way to learn is through exploration and joy. If the students show up to a fun and engaging environment, then they will be more likely to participate and walk away gaining knowledge and character.

What is your favorite thing about teaching?
I enjoy teaching all grade levels. During Nursery, I can see the students still figuring out simple motor function, and they’re always so excited for every activity. They also bring so much joy with them when they walk into the room. As the students get older, I get to see their skills start to develop. They begin to love certain activities and they start showing great signs of teamwork and sportsmanship. Then, in Middle School, they have  the ability to play on a sports team. Coaching them through practices and games is extremely fun and rewarding.

Bio:
I received a B.S. in kinesiology from the University of Maryland, while also being a member of the Track and Field Team. I spent my first year out of school working as an interim PE teacher and coach at Sidwell Friends School. At the conclusion of that school year, I joined the WES community.
